BLACK & WHITE
Known in the art world as silver gelatin, our photographs are individually hand printed to archival standard on fibre-based paper from the original negative and using the finest quality traditional materials. Each individual photograph takes over 1 hour to produce, every one with a slight variance in contrast and tone, therefore making it unique. It is worth noting that a few of these historic gems, some nearly 100 years old, occasionally have inherent emulsion faults and although minimal re-spotting is done, some marks will remain on the final print. We consider that these marks only add character and emphasise their age and pedigree. |

COLOUR
Known as Cibachrome in the photographic
world, this process is a unique colour print system for photographs from colour
transparencies. Each is printed individually to exacting standards. The
sharpness, colour intensity, clean whites and accuracy to the original slide
are second to none. Unlike ordinary colour prints one can expect a Cibachrome
to last many years, even in exposed situations, although as with black and
whites and with any valuable work of art one would try to avoid direct
sunlight. |

MOUNTING & FRAMING
Each photograph, including our Special Editions, is individually mounted/matted (by a member of the Fine Art Trade Guild) with hand cut pale ivory rag/cotton acid-free museum board, individually inscribed in pen and Indian ink and supplied ready to frame.
JARROTTS can provide your photograph ready to hang. We will recommend a suitable frame to compliment the image (traditionally stained black wood) and a choice of standard glass, non-reflective or UV light blocking protection glass (highly recommended). |
